Speaker: Ron Clark
Ron Clark, long-time volunteer at the Carolina Raptor Center and field trip leader extraordinaire for Mecklenburg Audubon Society, will explain how to identify the most common species in our area and discuss the unique characteristics of their natural history.
Learn about the birds from this avian family that spend time in North Carolina—pileated, downy, and yellow sapsuckers, to name a few. Discover where you might find these birds locally. Additionally, Clark will introduce participants to some of the other members of this prolific group—there are over 239 species of woodpeckers worldwide.
