Gardens of Cashiers & the Southern Highlands Reserve

Join Wing Haven and friends for a memorable trip to the beautiful North Carolina mountains.

Gather at 7:30 a.m.

Depart for Cashiers
Upon arrival, we will transfer to smaller vehicles to navigate the scenic mountain roads en route to our first destination—a charming mountain estate with beautiful gardens maintained by Drew English of The English Gardener. We will enjoy a catered lunch at the home followed by a guided tour of the gardens.
Check in to Hampton Inn & Suites Cashiers–Sapphire Valley
Following check in and free time, we will enjoy a welcome dinner at the Library Kitchen + Bar.

Following breakfast provided by the hotel, we will head to a well-known rose garden in the area that locals refer to as “magical.”
Then we will visit “Freesia Ridge,” a private garden located in the Chattooga Club community of Cashiers.
Enjoy a lovely lunch at The Chattooga Club in the scenic setting of this private mountain club.
We’ll then tour a woodland garden located on the outskirts of Cashiers that was designed by internationally known garden designer, Ryan Gainey.
Enjoy free time
Cocktails at High Hampton followed by a stroll through the gardens to dinner at Halsted House at High Hampton.

Depart for Southern Highlands Reserve at Lake Toxaway for a private, two-hour tour of what promises to be beautiful beyond your imagination. The tour is considered a moderate hike because of the site’s elevation of 4,500 feet. There is also some uneven terrain — mulch, gravel, steps, and bridges.

Board transportation home and on to highly recommended garden-enthusiast spots: Raymond’s Garden Center and the Johnson Family Farm.

Returning to Charlotte by 6:30 p.m.

Trip Details:

$1,935 member/$2,185 non member. Single occupancy rooms are an additional $100 fee.
Cost includes two nights’ accommodations at the Hampton Inn & Suites Cashiers–Sapphire Valley; admission to and a private tour of the Southern Highlands Reserve; private tours at each garden; three lunches; two dinners; two hotel breakfasts on Wednesday and Thursday; light breakfast refreshments before Tuesday’s departure; and ground transportation, including round-trip motor coach service to and from Charlotte. Single-room supplements are not included.
Space is limited to 26 participants to ensure an intimate and enriching experience.
