The Climax of Fall: Writing a Path through the Changing Landscape
Facilitator: Kathie Collins, Charlotte Lit Cofounder and Creative Director
In her enduring classic A Southern Garden, internationally known garden writer and landscape designer Elizabeth Lawrence writes “this season should be the climax of bloom, rich in a new beauty of its own, and not just a period when there is some color left over from summer.”
In this workshop, held in Wing Haven’s Elizabeth Lawrence House & Garden, we’ll practice seeing and more fully experiencing autumn’s radiance—in the garden and in ourselves—through guided readings, walks, writing prompts, and a take-home garden activity. Each practice is designed to awaken our senses and develop our powers of perception and attention, essential skills for every season of life!
Copies of A Southern Garden sold separately here.
$85/member; $95/non-member
Registration includes instruction, materials, and a take-home activity with one of Elizabeth Lawrence’s favorite types of plants—bulbs!
